This is one of my favorite pages from Doom Towns. Kristian used a set of documentary photographs from DOE archives to capture the making of the official story of the evacuation of the Bikini Islanders prior to the destruction of their home land and the actual reactions based on testimony of the Islanders who never embraced this removal as was depicted by the Navy in press releases prior to the explosions of Operation Crossroads in 1949.
